CANON - EOS C700 GS PL (body only)

Description

The Canon EOS C700 is a flexible, robust and highly capable primary 4K camera that is configurable for various production workflows. It comes stocked with Canon's GS PL lens mount with a positive-locking mechanism.

Featuring a 4.5K CMOS image sensor, a dynamic range of approximately 14 stops and a support for HDR monitoring, the C700 is ready for today's 4K and HDR productions.

With the GS PL mount, the C700 benefits from global shutter technology, which is ideal for sports, quick action, live concerts and events; where the 'wobble' effect is eradicated. By capturing the image concurrently, the occurrence of this happening is greatly reduced.

The C700 is capable of 4K recording at 60p to CFast 2.0 cards using the XF-AVC format, Apple's well-regarded ProRes formats is also available for direct-to-edit workflows. Raw recording is another possibility through Canon's separately available Codex Digital Recorder which simply clips onto the rear of the C700's modular design.

This camera has a familiar interface, most basic functions (ISO, shutter, slow and fast motion, etc.) can be accessed through the six buttons surrounding the screen. More advanced settings can be found using the simple selection dial and set buttons.

I/O options for nearly any application can be found on the C700's side panel. Video, audio, control, and power inputs and outputs are available for implementations ranging from ENG-style run-and-gun to high-budget cinema productions.

The EOS C700 features in-camera ND filters to help save production time and help increase shooting versatility without the need to change filters. This combination of ND filters allows 2, 4 and 6 stops of ND in normal mode and 8 and 10 stops in extended mode.

Finally, the camera has a new full size design allowing for both traditional studio style and handheld configurations. The camera body has built in cheese plates with various 3/8-16 and 1/4-20 threaded holes on the top and bottom to easily attach vital accessories. And for the first time on a Cinema EOS camera, native V-mount battery support is available via an installed IDX battery plate.
