Schneider's Hollywood Black Magic filters can be applied to reduce the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles. This can be useful in creating a more flattering image of a subject, while the contrast of light and medium tones is softened and highlights are reduced. Additionally, a glowing effect around highlights is created, which can further enhance a subject's appearance or produce a desired effect while overall sharpness is maintained.
Hollywood Black Magic filters come in densities of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1 and 2. The effect of this type of filter becomes approximately twice as strong with each increase in level.
