A fast, standard zoom favored for its versatility, the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM is a wide-angle to short telephoto lens designed for E-mount mirrorless cameras.

The overall volume and weight have been reduced by approximately 18%. The impressive flexibility and mobility of this new lense, combined with a water and dust resistant design makes it a good choice for a wide range of situations.

A constant F2.8 maximum aperture makes it easy to maintain exposure settings throughout the focal range to maintain the capacity in low light or in very fast scenes.

Exquisite F2.8 bokeh extends throughout the zoom range thanks to advanced optical design and a new 11-blade aperture unit. Two XA elements with 0.01-micron precision suppress onion ring bokeh. Minimum focusing distance is 0.21 meters at 24 mm and 0.30 meters at 70 mm, with max. magnification of 0.32x.

Four of Sony’s original XD (extreme dynamic) Linear Motors, a floating focus mechanism, and advanced lens control achieve high AF precision and approximately 2x better tracking performance while zooming than the previous model. The new aperture unit also contributes to high speed, enabling full AF tracking performance even when shooting with the aperture stopped down.

The latest lens design technology reduces unwanted image shifts and angle of view variations for smooth, expressive movie imagery. XD Linear Motors enhance AF and tracking performance, enabling high frame rate recording for exquisite detail. Independent focus and aperture rings are provided, and Linear Response MF ensures direct, linear focus ring response when focusing manually.
