The Sony FS7 Mk II camera is a model built on the original FS7’s strengths by adding advanced features including Electronic Variable ND technology, a lever lock type E-mount, and a new mechanical design for faster and easier set-up.

This high mobility professional camera has continuous Super Slow Motion capabilities and α Mount lens system compatible with wide variety of E-Mount and A-Mount lenses (A-Mount lenses require LA-EA4 lens adaptor).

Just like the FS7, the FS7 Mk II camera has an ergonomic grip design for easy handling and operability, making it ideal for one-man operation in situations where the extraordinary flexibility of its α Mount lens system and compatible interchangeable lenses can be used to maximum advantage.

The new design includes a new grip for easy handling and operability and an adjustable arm section. Moreover, the new "tool-less" mechanical design lets users make on-the-fly changes to the camera's set-up and operation. The detachable viewfinder eyepiece provides a third stabilizing contact point when shooting handheld and the length of the grip arm can be adjusted easily with knobs.

The revisited E-mount (lever lock type) gives users the ability to change lenses by rotating the locking collar rather than the lens itself, which means that in most cases lens support rigs don't need to be removed, saving time during a production. It will fit any existing E-mount lenses and it is ideal for the new SELP18110. 

This camera has a 4K Super 35mm Exmor CMOS sensor and support shooting in 4K 60p or Full HD at high frame rates up to 180 fps (frames per second), recording on internal XQD media. Using external RAW recorder images can be captured in 2K up to 240fps. It features several resolutions (QFHD 3840 x 2160 or 4096 x 2160) an outstanding sensitivity of ISO2000 and a dynamic range of 14-stops.

Also, the new FS7 Mk II features a new Electronic Variable ND technology, delivering greater exposure control with the option of preset or variable operation modes. The variable ND mode allows the user to vary the density of the ND filter during shooting and to transition seamlessly between steps. With this new technology, the camera can compensate for exposure fluctuation caused by iris control while adjusting the depth of field. The preset mode lets users assign three ND settings to the filter turret, useful in selecting the most appropriate filtration range for changing light conditions.

Selectable recording formats include XAVC, which supports 4K 60p, Full HD 60p even in 4:2:2 10-bit recording, as well as the common MPEG-2 HD 422 format used by many broadcast stations around the world. Attach an optional Extension Unit (XDCA-FS7) to open up the possibilities of multi-camera shooting and ProRes 422 encoding.
